BLOG TOUR, Review & Giveaway: Freeing by E.K. Blair

BOOK GENRES: Coming of Age & New Adult
**THIS IS A FULL-LENGTH COMPANION NOVEL TO FADING**

FREEING: a companion novel to the USA Today bestseller, Fading.

Knowing who you are and accepting who you are come at different prices.

Jase Kinrick grew up in your typical, all-American household. But after the death of his sister, his parents shut down, forcing him to deal with everything life throws his way alone. Terrified of the person he’s discovering himself to be, Jase has his way with every willing girl to try and rid himself of what he fears he is—gay.

Escaping California and moving to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, Jase frees himself to the reality that he likes men. Never staying with any guy long enough to get to know them, he doesn’t realize that he’s still hiding from who he is until he meets Mark. Scared of having real feelings for another guy stirs up the questions and fears he’s fought hard to bury.

To strip away the barriers to the heart of what is real, and to be okay with what lies underneath, will be Jase’s moment of truth. But he’ll need Mark to lead him there.

“I need you to be mad.”
Taking a step toward me, he asks, “Why?”
I walk over and sit on the arm of the chair before admitting, “Because I need to feel it. So that I know that you can see this for what it is.”
            “And what’s that?”
“Imperfect. Unequal.” Dropping my head, I release a deep breath before looking back up at him. “I’m undeserving and selfish. You’re worth so much more than what I’m capable of giving you.”
He moves to stand in front of me and takes my face in his hands as he questions me intently. “You don’t think you give me what I need? You think I’d stick around if you didn’t fill up pieces inside of me that only you’ve been able to?”
As he moves his hands to my shoulders, I drop my eyes when I tell him, “My pieces feel stripped bare.” I catch his eyes when I look back up and tell him, “I’m not sure I even have enough of them.”
“Maybe I have what you’re missing. But if you keep holding back, you’ll never find out. You’ll never know how well we can fit together unless you try.” I grip his shirt in my hands, almost pained by my confessions when he affirms, “I need you to try.”
            “So that’s it?”

After reading Fading, I was looking forward as to what was to come from E.K Blair.

I thought prior to reading this book, I needed to go into this with an open mind as the book was based on the M/M Relationship of Jason & Mark.
All I can say was how brilliantly captured the story was through the mind of E.K Blair. Words couldn't express the amount I have admired the story. I have numerous friends that are in a same sex relationships and never judged however this story certainly had made me see it from a new light. I now have more respect and appreciation for those brave enough to be who they are no matter what.
I'm glad that I took a chance and read it. I was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable it was to read from start to finish. I would recommend for all to get their hands on this powerful and brilliant series as they are very touching and heartwarming novels. Thank you for E.K Blair for bringing these stories into our lives. I know they would take pride place on my bookshelf as one of my favorite series.

BLOG TOUR & Review & Giveaway: Crossroads by Megan Keith

Nick is about to head overseas on an adventure of a lifetime.  It’s what he has always wanted, to travel the world, to experience new cultures, see the places he’s dreamed of for so long.  He should be over the moon.  Instead, he’s been in a slump ever since he lost his friend Em.
Nick is a player, always has been.  The first time he ever wanted more from a girl he was shot down.  So now he’s left licking his wounds.  Emma made her choice and now Nick has to live with it.
Or does he?  When he finds out that Emma is single after all, will he fight for her?  Will he be able to convince her to give him a chance?  And if he does, what will happen when he leaves?
Nick has reached a crossroads in his life - the girl or the dream.  Seems like an easy choice when the girl of his dreams is Emma.  But what if she doesn’t see things the same way?

The keys jiggle in the lock signalling Nick’s arrival and I adjust myself on the bed.  I can’t believe I’m doing this.  His footsteps become louder and my heart rate increases, my libido kicking in.  When Nick enters the room his eyes go wide and the sexy smirk that I love so much appears on his handsome face.  His dimples smile at me and I feel the pull to him coming directly from between my legs.
“Wow Em,” he says, his eyes wandering up and down my body.
I did exactly as he asked - I am dressed in nothing but my bikini.  I’m lying on my side with my head propped on my elbow, trying to look like a seductress.  By the heat in Nick’s gaze I’d say it’s working.  He puts his phone, keys and wallet on the tall chest of drawers, keeping his piercing blue eyes on me the whole time.  He kicks off his shoes and tugs his t-shirt over his head, tossing it to the floor.  My eyes lose focus on his face when that deliciously ripped torso of his is revealed.  I gawk unabashedly at his perfection as he stalks towards me.  When he reaches the side of the bed I sit up slightly.  His crotch is in perfect position near my face.  I reach for the button on his shorts.  Undoing his zipper slowly I look up at his face and lick my lips.  He groans which causes me to smile.  It makes me feel unbelievably powerful.

*NOTE: YOU MUST READ FINDING MY WAY BEFORE READING THIS REVIEW.*

Well what can I say! We picked up from were Finding My Way left us.....Wanting More.
Megan Keith certainly delivered with this sequel to her debut novel and brought us a beautiful journey with Emma and Nick.
I did enjoy Finding My Way however Crossroads topped the Icing on the Cake.  I was all for Emma and Nick to be together. I enjoyed the questionable relationship when both are questioning if they are actually together but too afraid to confront what their true feelings were for each other.

"I don't want to be apart from her for even a second, and when i am she is always on my mind. I have fallen in love with Em and i just know there is no recovering from the heart break that i have set myself up for. I feel like I'm dying inside. Instead of getting excited about my trip, each day my impending departure kills me that little bit more. Every day, i am silently willing Em to reciprocate my feelings, for her to say that she wants me to stay, that she loves me too, and every day i am disappointed. "

Throughout the book, I felt the highs and lows with the characters, the emotional roller coaster of a misunderstanding but enjoyed mostly the Make Up Sex. Who dosen't? lol

"Who knew the girl who dosen't like clubbing or doof-doof music could have so much fun with the DJ hey?" ~Nick
"I want more than a little fun with the DJ" ~Em

The music throughout this book had fit the book really well which illustrated the characters and storyline.
The storyline certainly built up to be a suspenseful emotional ending which literally brought me to a happy "Ugly Crÿ". So happy to see that Emma & Nick had their Happy Ending.
It's definitely a book that I would enjoy reading again but also have on my Book shelf.

I look foward to Megan Keith's next installment New Beginnings.
